Kent Boyd is an actor and writer, known for his roles in It Remains (2013), Teen Beach Movie (2013), and Chasing Hayes (2015). He was the second runner up on the show So You Think You Can Dance season 7.
Kent Boyd was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Kent played soccer growing up and also enjoys singing. Kent Boyd was fan-favorite and season-seven runner up on Fox’s competition reality show “So You Think You Can Dance.” Upon completing the show, he went on a 40-city U.S. tour with the top 10 dancers and all-stars from past seasons. Boyd returned to “So You Think You Can Dance” in season eight as an all-star and performed on the finale. He played himself in Disney Channel’s hit dance series “Shake It Up,” and has recurring roles on ABC Family’s “Bunheads,” as well as the flash mob series “Mobbed.” Additionally, he has been featured in “Glee,” and the independent film “Stepping High.” He also produced and starred in the short film “It Remains,” which premiered at the world-famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood at the Dances With Films Festival, won the Audience Award at the San Francisco Film Festival, the Regional Best Mobile Film Award at the Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards, and was a Top Ten finalist in the ShortsNonStop festival. He continues to appear at dance workshops around the country, including Hollywood Vibe and Excel In Motion. He can also be seen in Rebecca Black’s music video “My Moment.”
